The Classic WWF Collection features our iconic panda logo. The design has evolved over the past four decades, but the giant panda’s distinctive features remain an integral part of WWF’s treasured and unmistakable symbol. Today, WWF’s trademark is recognized as a universal symbol for the conservation movement.
The inspiration for the WWF logo came from Chi-Chi, a giant panda that was living at the London Zoo in 1961, the same year WWF was created. WWF’s founders were aware of the need for a strong, recognizable symbol that would overcome all language barriers. They agreed that the big, furry animal with her appealing, black-patched eyes would make an excellent choice.
Earth Hour is a global environmental movement of WWF, aimed at inspiring and empowering individuals, businesses, organizations, and governments to take tangible action for the planet. It has grown from a symbolic event in Sydney 2007 to the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement spanning over 7,000 cities and 180 countries and territories. As the movement grows, the one-hour lights-out event continues to be the symbol of a broader commitment toward the planet. The core message of Earth Hour lies in going Beyond the Hour - on what tangible action you can do after the lights go back on.
Celebrating #PrideMonth is important at WWF because we value the diversity of our staff, partners, and supporters every bit as much as we value biodiversity. Big shoutout and thanks to our passionate LGBTQ+ community, who have all played monumental roles in fighting for our one shared home. Be loud and proud for the planet and diversity. Since we’re stronger together, let us show our love for all life on Earth, with immense Pride!
The #AyokoNgPlastik movement aims to create awareness to spark conversations and individual actions to address plastic pollution. Join us in saving our environment from this man-made problem, and be part of the solution!
